GSD&M Layouts Social Media Templates
GSD&M is an Austin, Texas-based advertising agency that delivers First & Only ideas to First & Only brands — the first to do things and the only ones who can. These templates were designed to convey two of GSD&M’s key attributes: competence & edge.  Before the design process began, a competitive analysis offered insights into how GSD&M could strengthen its social media presence and set the standard for standing out. Across four content buckets — awards, people & quotes, events, and work — these layouts began on paper, were refined and developed in Illustrator, and delivered in Canva for turnkey implementation.

Preparation From Sketch to Product Using pencil & paper allowed quick iteration of multiple layouts, and the strongest concepts were selected for implementation. Engineered Gradients To provide multiple colorways with consistent nuances, the CAM16 color appearance model ensured accurate matches across scenarios. Three’s Company Three colorways were developed, allowing each template to take on multiple variations for flexibility. A Twist for Edge To ensure GSD&M’s spirit carried through the designs, subtle rotations add a playful edge. Awards Cannes Lions Wins For the advertising industry’s most prestigious award, these templates were accented with highlights. One Show Wins The 45-degree angles in the One Show Award trophy provided an opportunity to add dynamism with bold diagonals. Clio Wins The curves of the Clio Award trophy provide a compelling counterbalance to aligned text. Logo-Based Wins & Recognition For instances when a trophy image isn’t available or GSD&M is being recognized. People & QuotesBold Entrances Primary images for people posts were designed to appear editorial and capture attention. Carousel Ready Using various scales for quotes allowed flexible, mix-and-match implementation on carousel posts. Events Put Pithy Tagline Here Varied treatments for different levels of information give the communications team flexibility in execution. Work First & Only—Front & Center GSD&M works with brands that are the first to do it and the only ones who can; their tagline now frames client work. Turnkey Delivery Each template was recreated in Canva, ensuring the communications team can drag and drop to implement.
